Happy Easter

Ahh.... Easter! 4 days filled with possibilities and plans for lots of projects around the house. And of course the smaller members of the house are hanging out for a visit from the E.B!
One project already completed this weekend- potted succulents.

I am hooked on Pinterest and always get caught up browsing at these succulent arrangements.

I also have a padded bed head underway and the never ending painting around the house.
Happy Chocolate dreams tonight!

Martha St Barber

Back to one of my fave little hidden suburban locations- Martha St Camp Hill. This is the corner precinct with In a Pickle and many gorgeous little stores. This week a little barber shop opened there that I designed.

It's called John's Barber shop. John has another store not far away in the Samuel Village complex at Whites Hill. I've previously featured this store on the blog. It has the cedar walls and the astro turf walls. This time we went for a different look. We used a large mural of a New York sidewalk. The large industrial pendants were from Ikea.

Notice the built in beer fridge? If you're there at the right time of day you might just feel like relaxing with a cold one! Their 2nd chair was arriving any day, but they've already been attracting patrons.

Tomorrow is the Easter School Fete. So today there has been some busy baking happening here. I'm calling them "bunny nests".

These were inspired by something I saw on Pinterest, which is a site I love! If you haven't already been tempted have a look, it's addictive.

Pisces

This weekend just gone was the big 40th birthday weekend, which I'd been busily working towards.
The stones got finished with a day to spare. Mind you, I still have to grout them and then do the outside, but at least it was a huge monkey off my back getting this far.

Here's the wall on my birthday morning almost done.
And on the party day- all done.

This is something totally unrelated to my stone wall, but very cute and visual I think. My cousin recently went to Germany and was showing me the trend of putting engraved padlocks on bridges. It's a trend that I don't believe has caught on in Australia. The concept is the your love will remain forever strong with that person

This bridge looks amazing. But some have now become so heavy that the cities have had to relocate the walls to balance the weight.

Without being disrespectful it gives me a visual similarity to the wailing wall with the paper notes pushed into the brick work.

Denim Days

Whilst out and about last week, I called in at Warwick Fabrics to select some fabric for a job. I noticed a great denim upholstered semi circular ottoman. I've always loved denim in home decorating.

Then down the road at Domayne Furniture I saw this really cool denim cube ottoman. I love this one!

Check out all the recycled zippers down the sides.

Here's a look at some of the other display furniture in the Warwick showroom.

Look at the cute legs on this leather chair.

And here's the fire place stone progress!
